C. 20554 DA 05- 1156 April 27, 2005 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE GRANT OF 10 AUTOMATED MARITIME TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM LICENSES AUCTION EVENT NO. 57 Report No. AUC- 05- 57- G (Auction No. 57) On September 15, 2004, the Federal Communications Commission completed the auction of 20 licenses in the Automated Maritime Telecommunications System (“ AMTS”) spectrum (“ Auction No. 57”). 1 In that auction, four winning bidders won a total of 10 licenses. On November 28, 2004, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announced that, based upon initial review of the long-form applications, the applications of winning bidders in Auction No. 57 were accepted for filing. 2 Upon further review and examination, the applications listed in the Attachment below have been found to be complete and in conformance with the Commission’s Rules. 3 In Auction No. 57, all winning bidders’ upfront payment amounts are sufficient to satisfy their total winning bids. Accordingly, on April 26, 2005, we granted the 10 licenses listed in the Attachment. We granted these licenses pursuant to Section 309( a) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U. S. C. § 309( a), and Section 0.331 of the Commission’s Rules, 47 C. F. R. § 0.331, because it will serve the public interest, convenience, and necessity. On April 22, 2005, the Bureau’s Public Safety and Critical Infrastructure Division denied a petition filed on November 22, 2004 by Warren C. However, neither applicant amended its application within 180 days after the filing deadline for long- form applications to attach the requisite certification from the tribal government, as required by 47 C.
