C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 05- 1660 June 16, 2005 SECTION 307( b) AMENDMENT DEADLINE ESTABLISHED FOR CERTAIN AM AUCTION NO. 84 SINGLETON APPLICATIONS Pursuant to Section 307( b) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, the Commission is required to determine whether a proposed change in a radio station’s community of license would promote the fair, efficient, and equitable distribution of radio services. By this Public Notice, the Media Bureau announces a July 18, 2005, Section 307( b) amendment deadline for the AM Auction No. 84 singleton applications listed in Attachment 84- 307b. 1 Each of these applications proposes the relocation of a station to a new community. These applicants, however, either did not file any Section 307( b) showing or filed a deficient showing. These applicants are hereby notified that they are each required to file an application amendment providing a complete Section 307( b) showing. In order for the Commission to complete the processing of the listed AM Auction No. 84 singleton applications, each applicant must provide the following information on both the proposed and current communities in its Section 307( b) amendment: 1) the number of stations licensed to each community; 2) the number of stations providing protected service to each community; 3) the population, according to 2000 US Census data, within each community; 4) where relevant to establish the precondition of a licensable community, a description of the civic, cultural, religious, social, and commercial attributes of the proposed community; and 5) any other information deemed relevant by the applicant that would assist the Commission staff with its Section 307( b) analysis. The Section 307( b) application amendments must be filed by July 18, 2005. The Commission staff will dismiss, without further processing, the listed AM Auction No. 84 singleton applications for which an amendment containing the required Section 307( b) showing is not submitted by July 18, 2005.
