C. 20554 In the Matter of Petition for Waiver of the Part 15 UWB Regulations Filed by the Multi- band OFDM Alliance Special Interest Group ) ) ) ) ) ET Docket No. 04- 352 ORDER GRANTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE COMMENTS Adopted: September 9, 2005 Released: September 12, 2005 By the Acting Chief Engineer: 1. An Order in the above entitled proceeding was adopted by the Commission on March 10, 2005, 20 FCC Rcd 5528 (2005), granting a Petition for Waiver that was filed by the Multi- band OFDM Alliance Special Interest Group to permit an ultra- wideband transmission system using multi- band OFDM modulation to be measured in its normal operating mode. On April 11, 2005, the Satellite Industry Association (“ SIA”) filed a Petition for Reconsideration of this Order. Comments on the SIA petition were due on September 1, 2005 and reply comments are due September 12, 2005. See Public Notice released August 4, 2005, Report No. 2724, and 70 FR 48421, August 17, 2005. 2. On September 7, 2005, SIA requested an extension of the reply comment period until September 23, 2005. SIA states that it needs additional time to respond to comments that were filed by the WiMedia Alliance. 3. The Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time in rule making proceedings. However, the technical issues in this proceeding are quite complex and a short extension of the reply comment period will facilitate a more complete record. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to the delegated authority contained in 47 C. F. R. §§ 0.31 and 0.241( a), that the time period for filing reply comments in the above captioned proceeding IS EXTENDED to September 23, 2005.
