C. 20554 DA 05- 243 January 28, 2005 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 29 (NEW MEXICO) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST PLANNING MEETING The Region 29 (New Mexico) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee convener announces that the initial meeting of the Region 29 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee will be held on Monday, March 21, 2005. The meeting will start at 1: 30 p. m. (MST) at the City of Albuquerque 911 Dispatch Center, 11510 Sunset Garden SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The purpose of the meeting is to elect a chairperson and appoint a planning committee to begin the development of the Region 29 700 MHz plan and to initiate consideration of a Region 29 4.9 GHz Plan. The Region 29 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 29 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and the 4.9 GHz bands within Region 29 are encouraged to attend.
