C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 05- 2525 RELEASED: September 27, 2005 NETWORK RELIABILITY AND INTEROPERABILITY COUNCIL TO HOLD MEETING The next meeting of the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council (“ Council”) will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2005, from 2: 00 p. m. to 5: 00 p. m. at the Federal Communications Commission, in the Commission Meeting Room at 445 12th Street, S. W., Washington, D. C. 20554. The Council originally was established by the Federal Communications Commission to bring together leaders of the telecommunications industry and telecommunications experts from academic, consumer and other organizations to explore and recommend measures that will enhance network reliability and security. During the meeting the Council will discuss potential recommendations in the areas of E911 implementation and evolution, network security, network reliability, and broadband. The Council will also review the status of various working groups. Members of the general public may attend to observe the meeting. The Federal Communications Commission will attempt to accommodate as many people as possible. Admittance, however, will be limited to the seating available. Unless so requested by the Council’s Chair, there will be no public oral participation, but the public may submit written comments to Jeffery Goldthorp, the Federal Communications Commission’s Designated Federal Officer for the Network Reliability and Interoperability Council, before the meeting.
