C. 20554 DA 05- 3136 Released: December 1, 2005 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA (REGION 5) 800 MHz PLANNING COMMITTEE RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR AMENDMENT TO ITS PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (PR DOCKET NO. 89- 97) By this Public Notice, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announces that the Region 5 (Southern California) 1 800 MHz Regional Planning Committee’s proposal to amend its National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC Plan) is approved. On April 20, 2005, Region 5 filed an amendment to its NPSPAC Plan to include several revised channel assignments to the Cocachella Water District and the City of San Diego. 2 Specifically, the Plan Amendment assigns channels 638, 647, 676, 685, 714, 723, 752 and 790 to the Cocachella Water District for a new system, and channel 816 to the City of San Diego. 3 The Plan Amendment was coordinated with Southern California’s adjacent regions. 4 In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each NPSPAC region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands. 5 The Region 5 Plan was originally adopted by the Commission in July 1993, and was amended in October 2000. 6 1 Region 5 Southern California consists of ten counties: San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Kern, Ventura, San Bernadino, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and Imperial. 2 See Letter dated April 18, 2005, from Ron Wong, Region 5 800 MHz Planning Committee, to Marlene H. We have reviewed the Plan Amendment submitted by Region 5, and conclude that it complies with FCC rules and policies. Accordingly, pursuant to Section 4( i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U. S. C. § 154( i), and Section 1.102( b) of the Commission’s Rules, 47 C. F. R. § 1.102( b), the Region 5 (Southern California) 800 MHz Public Safety Plan Amendment is APPROVED.
