 REGION  5  (SOUTHERN  CALIFORNIA)  PUBLIC  SAFETY  PLANNING  COMMITTEES  ANNOUNCE 


 700  MHz  REGIONAL  PUBLIC  SAFETY  PLANNING  MEETING  AND 
 800  MHz  REGIONAL  PUBLIC  SAFETY  PLANNING  MEETING  (Gen.  Docket  89-  97) 


 The  Region  5  (Southern  California)  Regional  Planning  Committees  announce  two  public  safety  planning  meetings.  On  Thursday,  April  14,  2005,  the  Region  5  800  MHz  Regional 
 Planning  Committee  meeting  will  convene  at  1:  00  p.  m.  at  Knot’s  Radisson  Resort,  7675  Crescent  Avenue,  Buena  Park,  California.  The  purpose  of  the  meeting  is  to  approve  the 
 selection  of  Ron  Wong  to  be  the  new  Chairman  of  the  800  MHz  Regional  Plan  Revision  Committee. 


 Immediately  following  the  adjournment  of  the  800  MHz  Regional  Planning  Committee  meeting,  Region  5  will  convene  its  700  MHz  Regional  Planning  Committee  meeting.  The 
 purpose  of  this  meeting  is  to  review,  discuss  and  approve  the  4.9  GHz  guidelines  to  be  added  to  the  plan. 


 Both  of  the  Region  5  Public  Safety  Planning  Committee  meetings  are  open  to  the  public.  All  eligible  public  safety  providers  whose  sole  purpose  or  principal  purpose  is  to  protect  the 
 safety  of  life,  health,  or  property  in  Region  5  may  utilize  these  frequencies.  It  is  essential  that  not  only  public  safety,  but  all  government,  Native  American  Tribal,  and  non-  governmental 
 organizations  eligible  under  Section  90.523  of  the  Commission’s  Rules  be  represented  in  order  to  ensure  that  each  agency’s  future  spectrum  needs  are  considered  in  the  allocation  process. 
 Administrators  who  are  not  oriented  in  the  communications  field  should  delegate  someone  with  this  knowledge  to  attend,  participate  and  represent  your  agency’s  needs.  All  interested  parties 
 wishing  to  participate  in  the  planning  for  the  use  of  new  public  safety  spectrum  in  the  newly  allocated  4.9  GHz  band  are  encouraged  to  attend.
