C. 20554 DA 06- 1020 May 12, 2006 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 11 (HAWAII) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS The Region 11 (Hawaii) Regional Planning Committees will hold three consecutive planning meetings regarding Public Safety communications within Region 11. On Tuesday, August 8, 2006, the Region 11 800 MHz (NPSPAC) Regional Planning Committee meeting will convene at 9: 30 a. m. in Room 302 of the Keoni Ana State Office Building, 1177 Alakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. The agenda for this meeting includes: 1. Reestablishment of the Region 11 800 MHz (NPSPAC) Regional Planning Committee (RPC) with the participation and agreement of the State and County governments 2. Election of Officers 3. Selection of a Working Group to draft Bylaws for the Committee 4. Discussion of the existing channel allocation plan issued September 30, 1993 5. Scheduling future meetings 6. New business 7. Receive public comments 8. Adjourn Each State and County government and all other eligible entities should appoint and certify representatives to the Region 11 800 MHz NPSPAC RPC to represent their jurisdictions who are conversant with telecommunications technology. On Tuesday, August 8, 2006, the Region 11 State Interoperability Executive Committee meeting will convene immediately following the NPSPAC meeting in Room 302 of the Keoni Ana State Office Building, 1177 Alakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96813. The agenda for this meeting includes: 1. The agenda for this meeting includes: 1. Old business, including discussion of the current narrowband channel allocation proposal 2. New business 3. Receive public comments 4. Adjourn The meetings of the Region 11 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees and State Interoperability Executive Committee are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Hawaii may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Federal Communications Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not conversant with telecommunications technology should ensure that their respective agencies are represented suitably conversant staff. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 11 are encouraged to attend. Participants can also join the meeting at State of Hawaii video conference centers located in Hilo, Wailuku, Honolulu, and Lihue.
