 By  the  Chief,  Media  Bureau: 
 1.  On  November  28,  2005,  Farm  Journal,  Inc.  (“  Farm  Journal”)  filed  a  Petition  for  Declaratory  Ruling  asking  the  Commission  to  find  that  RFD  Communications,  Inc.  (“  RFD-  TV”)  fails  to 
 satisfy  the  eligibility  requirements  of  an  educational  programming  supplier  for  purposes  of  carriage  by  DBS  providers  in  fulfillment  of  their  public  interest  obligations  under  47  C.  F.  R.  §  25.701.  By  Public 
 Notice,  released  April  20,  2006,  the  Media  Bureau  set  the  date  for  filing  comments  and  responses  as  May  22,  2006,  and  set  the  date  for  filing  replies  as  June  6,  2006.  On  May  22,  2006,  RFD  TV  filed  a  Motion 
 for  Extension  of  Time  (Motion)  requesting  an  extension  until  June  21,  2006  to  file  comments  and  responses  in  this  proceeding  and  until  July  6,  2006  to  file  replies.  According  to  RFD-  TV,  more  time  is 
 needed  to  gather  the  facts  necessary  to  fully  address  the  issues  involved.  Farm  Journal  opposes  the  motion  for  extension. 


 2.  We  find  that  there  is  good  cause  to  extend  the  due  date  for  filing  comments  and  responses  in  this  proceeding.  Granting  the  extension  will  serve  the  public  interest  in  gathering  a  full  record.  However, 
 we  do  not  believe  that  the  length  of  the  extension  requested  by  RFD-  TV,  over  one  month,  is  warranted.  An  extension  of  two  weeks  should  be  sufficient  to  allow  RFD-  TV  and  any  other  party  to  obtain  any 
 necessary  information  and  to  prepare  appropriate  comments.  Therefore,  we  will  extend  the  time  for  filing  comments  and  responses  to  the  Farm  Journal  Petition  until  June  5,  2006  and  for  filing  replies  until  June 
 16,  2006. 
 3.  Accordingly,  IT  IS  ORDERED  that,  pursuant  Sections  0.283,  1.2  and  1.46  of  the  Commission’s  rules,  47  C.  F.  R.  §§  0.283,  1.2,  and  1.46,  the  date  for  filing  comments  and  responses  in  MB 


 Docket  No.  06-  92  is  extended  until  June  5,  2006,  and  the  date  for  filing  replies  is  extended  to  June  16,  2006.
