C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 06- 1104 May 26, 2006 INTERNATIONAL BUREAU ANNOUNCES MANDATORY ELECTRONIC FILING FOR ALL INTERATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL FILINGS EFFECTIVE JUNE 12, 2006 IB DOCKET NO. 04- 226 The International Bureau announces that beginning June 12, 2006, applications and other filings related to international telecommunications services – as set forth in the attachment to this Public Notice – must be filed electronically via the International Bureau Filing System (IBFS), in accordance with the rules adopted in the Commission’s Mandatory Electronic Filing Report and Order. 1 Paper versions of these applications and filings will not be accepted as of that date and will be returned to the applicant without being processed, unless a waiver is approved by the Commission. 2 On May 11, 2005, the Commission adopted rules in its Mandatory Electronic Filing Report and Order that require applicants to file electronically applications and other filings related to international telecommunications services. 3 The rules also require filers to submit such applications and other filings via the International Bureau Filing System (IBFS). These rules apply to the applications and filings associated with: section 214 authorizations; submarine cable landing licenses; accounting rate changes; assignment of data network identification codes; foreign carrier notifications; recognized operating agency status; and assignment of an international signaling point code. As the transition period began on April 12, 2006, applications and filings referenced in the attachment must be filed electronically via IBFS beginning June 12, 2006. The public notices to be issued by the International Bureau are in accordance with the Mandatory Electronic Filing Report and Order, which delegated this authority to the Bureau.
