C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 06- 133 January 23, 2006 ELECTRONIC FILING OF ANALOG CELLULAR STATUS REPORTS WILL BE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE INTERNET BEGINNING JANUARY 25, 2006 Reports due by February 21, 2006 In 2002, the Commission established a five- year sunset period (February 18, 2003 through February 18, 2008) after which 800 MHz Cellular Radiotelephone Service (cellular) licensees will no longer be required to provide analog service. 1 As part of the Commission’s efforts to monitor the adequacy of access to mobile telephony by those currently reliant on analog, cellular licensees providing nationwide coverage are required to file reports in February 2006 and February 2007 regarding the status of analog cellular service, such as information concerning the availability and accessibility of hearing aid- compatible digital phones and emergency- only digital devices. 2 While only cellular service providers offering nationwide service are required to file reports, other licensees and interested parties are encouraged to submit reports or comments for the Commission's consideration. Nationwide cellular licensees as well as other interested parties must file reports no later than February 21, 2006. 3 This Public Notice provides instructions on how to file the reports electronically with the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) as well as information on how the public can access the reports via the FCC’s website. Filing Reports: To file a report, access the Analog Cellular Status Reports Submission page through the Internet by selecting the “file reports” link at . The reports can be searched by the name of the filer or by the date the reports were filed. You may also choose to "view all reports." The system will display the search results on the Analog Cellular Status Reports page by filer entity/ company if such information was provided, or by the first and last names of the individual filing the report if an entity/ company name was not identified. The reports may be sorted by filer name or by the date the report was submitted.
