Intelsat is authorized to operate the INTELSAT 601 satellite in the C- band (5850- 6425 MHz and 3625- 4200 MHz), and Ku- band (14.0- 14.5 GHz, 10.95- 11.2 GHz, 11.45- 11.7 GHz) frequencies at the 63.65° E. L. orbital location. The Division also granted Intelsat’s request for waiver of Section 25.114( d)( 4) of the Commission’s rules and its request that the Part 25 waivers originally granted to the Intelsat 601 spacecraft continue to apply at 63.65° E. L., specifically the waivers of Sections 25.140( b)( 2), 25.202( g), 25.210( a)( 1), 25.210( a)( 3), 25.210( c), 25.210( i), and 25.211( a) of the Commission’s rules. S2693 SAT- RPL- 20060119- 00005 E Effective Date: 11/ 16/ 2006 Grant of Authority Replacement Satellite Application (no new frequency) DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC Nature of Service: Other On November 16, 2006, the Satellite Division granted, subject to conditions, the remaining portion of DIRECTV Enterprises, LLC's (DIRECTV) application to construct, launch, and operate a direct broadcast satellite, DIRECTV 13 (Call Sign: S2693), at the 110° W. L. nominal orbital location. This satellite will replace the DIRECTV 5 satellite. Portions of the application pertaining to operation in the 36 MHz and 82 MHz wideband modes and launch of a payload capable of operating on even- numbered channels 2- 26 were previously dismissed without prejudice to refiling. Accordingly, DIRECTV is authorized to construct, launch, and operate the DIRECTV 13 DBS space station at the 109.8° W. L. orbital location with feeder links (Earth- to- space) in the 17.3- 17.8 GHz band on DBS channels 28, 30, and 32, and service links (space- to- Earth) in the 12.2- 12.7 GHz band on DBS channels 28, 30, and 32. In addition, the Satellite Division granted DIRECTV's request for waiver of the requirement to provide the location of the telemetry, tracking, and control (TT& C) earth stations associated with the DIRECTV 13 space station, with the condition that DIRECTV must provide the information prior to launch of the DIRECTV 13 satellite. SAT- STA- 20061107- 00133 E Effective Date: 11/ 15/ 2006 Grant of Authority Special Temporary Authority Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. On November 15, 2006, the Satellite Division granted special temporary authority (STA) to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Sirius) to operate one terrestrial repeater in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the location and with the technical parameters specified in its application for a period of 30 days subject to conditions. Sirius states that it was previously granted STA to operate this repeater in Las Vegas, but that the repeater must be relocated due to the imminent demolition of the structure upon which it is currently located. Sirius states that this repeater is needed to fill in gaps in service of its satellite- based system. (Sirius) to operate terrestrial repeaters with an Effective Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) of 200 watts and 0.0001 watts at the events, and with the technical parameters, specified in its application for a period of 30 days, commencing on December 1, 2006, subject to conditions. Sirius states that the repeaters will be used for demonstrations at trade shows across the United States. Sirius states the repeaters are necessary to provide quality reception inside of trade show venues, due to signal blockage from walls and ceilings.
