Nature of Service: Direct to Home Fixed Satellite, Fixed Satellite Service On December 20, 2006, the Satellite Division granted with conditions, Satélites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V.'s request to modify its existing Permitted List authorization (see Satelites Mexicanos, S.A. de C.V., Petition for Declaratory Ruling, Order, File No. SAT-PDR-19991214-00131, 15 FCC Rcd 19,311 (Sat. Div., Int'l Bur. 2000), erratum 19 FCC Rcd. 20,427 (Sat. Div., Int'l Bur. 2004) to change the orbital location of SOLIDARIDAD 2. Accordingly, each earth station with "ALSAT" designated as a point of communication may provide Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) and FSS Direct-to-Home Service (DTH) to, from, or within the United States, by accessing the SOLIDARIDAD 2 satellite at the 114.9º W.L. orbital location in the 5925-6425 MHz (Earth-to-space), 3700-4200 MHz (space-to-Earth), 11.7-12.2 GHz (space-to-Earth) and 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-to-space) frequency bands. SAT-STA-20061107-00135 E Effective Date: 12/19/2006Grant of Authority Special Temporary Authority Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. On December 19, 2006, the Satellite Division granted special temporary authority (STA) to Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (Sirius) to operate terrestrial repeaters with an Effective Isotropically Radiated Power (EIRP) of 200 watts and 0.0001 watts at the events, and with the technical parameters, specified in its application for a period of 180 days, commencing on January 1, 2007, subject to conditions. Sirius states that the repeaters will be used for demonstrations at trade shows across the United States. Sirius states the repeaters are necessary to provide quality reception inside of trade show venues, due to signal blockage from walls and ceilings. XM states that the repeaters will be used for demonstrations at trade shows across the United States. INFORMATIVE S2619SAT-AMD-20060120-00006 SES Americom, Inc. On December 21, 2006, the Satellite Division granted SES Americom, Inc. (SES Americom) an extension of time, until January 29, 2007, to re-submit its petition for authority to serve the U.S. market using BSS spectrum from the 105.5 W.L. orbital location. On November 29, 2006, SES Americom's petition was dismissed without prejudice to re-filing, provided SES Americom resubmitted its petition within 30 days of the dismissal (i.e., December 29, 2006). See DA 06-2438 The Satellite Division finds that the public interest would be served by granting additional time to SES Americom to prepare and file the required documents, and that no other party would be adversely affected by the grant of additional time.
