Beginning at 9:00 a.m., the 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will convene at the Kentucky Commonwealth’s Office of Technology Meeting Room located at 101 Cold Harbor Drive, Frankfort, Kentucky. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Election of officers § Appointment of 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee § 700 MHz issues with surrounding states § Cyren Call briefing § Review draft of 700 MHz plan § Review of 700 MHz data sort as provided by CAPRAD1 § Agree on work elements and timeline for submission of the 700 MHz plan 1 The Computer Assisted Pre-coordination Resource and Database (CAPRAD) system is a tool available to regional planning committees to pre-designate initial 700 MHz channel allotments in county-like area frequency pools. CAPRAD is administered by the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center-Rocky Mountain Region (NLECTC-RM), a program of the National Institute of Justice hosted by the University of Denver through the Denver Research Institute, and is available at http://caprad.nlectc.du.edu. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: § 800 MHz rebanding § 800 MHz report by Sprint/Nextel representative § Future plan revision Both of the Region 17 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 17 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 17 should plan to attend.
