C. 20554 DA 06- 314 February 8, 2006 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 47 (PUERTO RICO) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD FIRST PLANNING MEETING The Region 47 (Puerto Rico) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will hold its initial meeting on Tuesday, April 4, 2006. The meeting will start at 9: 00 a. m. in the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, located on Roosevelt Avenue in Hato Rey, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The purpose of the meeting is to elect a chairperson and appoint a planning committee to begin the development of the Region 47 700 MHz plan and to initiate consideration of a Region 47 4.9 GHz Plan. The Region 47 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 47 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not conversant with telecommunications technology should ensure that their respective agencies are represented by suitably conversant staff. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new Public Safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band, or the newly allocated 4.9 GHz band within Region 47 are encouraged to attend.
