C. 20554 DA 06- 920 April 24, 2006 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 4.9 GHz REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETING The Region 5 (Southern California) 4.9 GHz Regional Planning Committee will hold a public safety planning meeting on Friday, May 5, 2006. The meeting, which will be held in conjunction with the 2006 California State APCO Training Conference & Exposition, will take place at the Ontario Convention Center located at 2000 Convention Center Way, Ontario, California. The purpose of the meeting is to distribute and review a draft of the 4.9 GHz Regional Plan and receive any feedback on the document. The Region 5 4.9 GHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 5 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not conversant with telecommunications technology should ensure that their respective agencies are represented by suitably qualified staff. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of the 4.9 GHz band within Region 5 are encouraged to attend.
