Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 07-4163 Released: October 4, 2007 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF REVISED CHANNELIZATION PLANS FOR THE CONSOLIDATED 700 MHZ PUBLIC SAFETY NARROWBAND SPECTRUM On July 31, 2007, the Commission adopted a Second Report and Order revising the rules governing the upper 700 MHz band.1 In the Second Report and Order, the Commission redesignated ten megahertz of public safety 700 MHz spectrum (763-768/793-798 MHz) for the purpose of establishing a nationwide, interoperable broadband public safety communications network.2 In connection with the establishment of the new broadband segment of the public safety 700 MHz spectrum, the Commission also consolidated the public safety 700 MHz narrowband channels (769-775/799-805 MHz).3 The Bureau has recently made available a revised chart that illustrates the channelization for the consolidated 700 MHz public safety narrowband spectrum.
