FOR THE NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING REGARDING AMENDMENT OF 
SERVICE AND ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR FM BROADCAST TRANSLATOR 
STATIONS

On August 15, 2007, the Commission released a Notice of Proposed Rule Making (“NPRM”) on 
revisions to the Commission’s rules to allow AM broadcast stations to operate FM translator stations.1  
The NPRM set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 60 and 90 days after publication in 
the Federal Register.2
On November 6, 2007, the NPRM was published in the Federal Register.3 Accordingly, 
comments must be filed on or before January 7, 2008, and reply comments must be filed on or before 
February 4, 2008.  Commenters should follow the filing instructions provided in paragraphs 27 through 
32 of the NPRM.4  The NPRM is also available on the Commission’s website.5
