Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 07-5026 December 18, 2007 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ACTION REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 700 MHz REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETING The Region 5 (Southern California)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, January 16, 2008, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., at the County of Riverside, 1855 Chicago Avenue, Riverside, California. The agenda for this meeting includes: § Elect replacement Vice-Chair for the committee (nominations will be accepted at the meeting) § Vote to ratify the amended allotment table to conform to the new band plan per the work group recommendation § General discussion of other plan updates required § Update on agency plans to implement 700 MHz systems after TV clearing § New business The Region 5 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 5 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. 1 The Region 5 (Southern California) consists of ten counties: Imperial, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Bernadino, San Diego Kern, San Louis Obispo and Ventura.
