Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 07-59 January 11, 2007 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ACTION REGION 15 (IOWA) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 700 MHz REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETING The Region 15 (Iowa) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will hold its next planning meeting on Wednesday, January 31, 2007, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Iowa Department of Transportation, Materials Conference Room, 800 Lincoln Way, Ames, Iowa. The agenda for this meeting includes: § Review and adopt Bylaws,1 § Review tools available on the CAPRAD database, 2 § Review the next steps to be taken to develop the Regional Plan, and § Confirm meeting dates for the remainder of the year. The Region 15 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 15 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum 1 A copy of the proposed Bylaws is available in the “Iowa News” section at http://www.iowaapco.org. 2 The Computer Assisted Pre-coordination Resource and Database (CAPRAD) system is a tool available to regional planning committees to pre-designate initial 700 MHz channel allotments in county-like area frequency pools.
