The Order revised and clarified rules requiring consumer electronics manufacturers and eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) to provide consumers with information about the digital television transition.1 On May 19, 2008, the Order was published in the Federal Register.2 On May 22, 2008, the Commission received OMB approval of the rules.3 Therefore, pursuant to the Order, the effective date for the revised rules is May 30, 2008.4 The Further Notice requested comment on expanding the educational requirements of ETCs and multichannel video programming distributors.
