COMMENT DATES SET FOR RULEMAKING TO PROMOTE 
DIVERSIFICATION OF BROADCAST OWNERSHIP

On March 5, 2008, the Commission released a Report and Order and Third Further Notice of 
Proposed Rule Making (“Order and Third Further Notice”) establishing new rules and seeking comment 
on other rule proposals to increase participation in the broadcasting industry by new entrants and small 
businesses, including minority- and women-owned businesses.1 Comment and reply comment deadlines 
were set in the Order and Third Further Notice as 30 and 45 days, respectively, from publication of the 
Third Further Notice in the Federal Register.  Comments will be due in this proceeding on June 30, 2008, 
and reply comments will be due on July 14, 2008.2 Filing instructions are provided in the Third Further 
Notice.3
