Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 08- 2173 September 29, 2008 INTERNATIONAL BUREAU ANNOUNCES NEW FILING MODULES WITHIN THE MYIBFS ELECTRONIC FILING SYSTEM: ABILITY TO FILE ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS AND PLEADINGS ELECTRONICALLY Note: The link for the International Bureau Filing System (MyIBFS) has moved! Please update your bookmarks with the new URL: http://licensing.fcc.gov/myibfs. The International Bureau is launching an e-filing module in MyIBFS to provide the option of electronic filing for certain filings in lieu of filing through the Commission’s Office of the Secretary. These changes will make the filing process with the International Bureau easier and more efficient: interested parties may electronically file applications, pleadings and other filings the International Bureau, effective Tuesday, September 30, 2008. Applications: Applicants now have the option to file an application and, if required, make their payment electronically through the MyIBFS interface in lieu of filing the application through the Commission’s Office of the Secretary. This new option is available for the following application types: (1) Submarine Cable Transfers of Control (SCL-T/C) (both substantive and pro forma) (2) Submarine Cable Assignments (SCL-ASG) (both substantive and pro forma) (3) Submarine Cable Requests for Special Authority (SCL-STA) (4) Amendments to Submarine Cable applications (SCL-AMD) (5) Amendments to International Telecommunications applications (ITC-AMD) (6) Modifications to Submarine Cable authorizations (SCL-MOD) (7) Modifications to International Telecommunications authorizations (ITC-MOD) (8) Petitions of Declaratory Ruling (ISP-PDR) As a result, applications and fees will be received in a more timely manner, allowing Commission staff to begin processing the application sooner than if the application is filed through the Commission’s Secretary’s Office and the payment was filed via mail. Applicants will still have the ability to file these applications through the Secretary’s office or the US Bank, as appropriate. Other filings: Applicants and interested parties now have the option to file other documents, such as supplemental information, comments, and reply comments via MyIBFS, as well. These filings can still be filed through the Secretary’s office should applicants wish to do so. Questions can be directed to the IBFS Help Line, 202-418-2222, or e-mail us at IBFSINFO@fcc.gov. -FCC-
