Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 08-2460 November 6, 2008 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 7 (COLORADO) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 700 MHZ REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING AND FREQUENCY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS The Region 7 (Colorado) Public Safety Regional Planning Committee (RPC) will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, January 14, 2009, beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the State of Colorado Emergency Management Office, 9195 East Mineral Avenue, Suite 200, Centennial, Colorado. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Review of the Region 7 700 MHz plan § Reports of Frequency Advisory Committee (FAC), Core, and By-law Committees § Discussion on items from the Committee Reports In addition, the Region 7 Frequency Advisory Committee (FAC) will hold a meeting for discussion of potential requests/applications for frequencies at the same location, on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Telephone conferencing will be available for both meetings. Both Region 7 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee and Region 7 Frequency Advisory Committee meetings are open to the public. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 90.523, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 7 should plan to attend.
