Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 08-944 April 23, 2008 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU APPROVES REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) 800 MHz NPSPAC REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN AMENDMENT General Docket 89-97 By this Public Notice the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau (Bureau) announces its approval of a proposal1 filed by the Region 5 (Southern California)2 800 MHz Regional Planning Committee to amend its 800 MHz National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee (NPSPAC) Regional Public Safety Plan governing the use of public safety spectrum in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands within the ten southern most counties in the state of California. News media information 202 / 418-0500 Fax-On-Demand 202 / 418-2830 TTY 202 / 418-2555 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov ftp.fcc.gov 2 County of Los Angeles.4 The Region 5 Public Safety Planning Committee coordinated the Plan Amendment and obtained letters of concurrence from all three regions adjacent to Region 5: Region 3 (Arizona), Region 6 (Northern California) and Region 27 (Nevada).5 On January 16, 2008, the Bureau solicited public comment on the Region 5 Plan Amendment.6 We received no comments on the Plan Amendment. We have reviewed the Plan Amendment submitted by Region 5, and conclude, based on the information before us, that it complies with FCC rules and policies. Accordingly, pursuant to Section 4(i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 154(i), and Section 1.102(b) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.102(b), the Region 5 (Southern California) 800 MHz Public Safety Plan Amendment is APPROVED. This action is taken under delegated authority pursuant to Sections 0.191 and 0.392 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.191, 0.392.
