Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 08-945 April 23, 2008 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU APPROVES REGION 3 (ARIZONA) 800 MHz NPSPAC REGIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN AMENDMENT PR DOCKET NO. 91-143 By this Public Notice, the Public Safety and Homeland Security (Bureau) announces its approval of a proposal1 filed by the Region 3 (Arizona) 800 MHz Regional Review Committee (ARRC) to amend its 800 MHz Regional Public Safety Plan governing the use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821-824/866-869 MHz bands within the State of Arizona.2 The Commission adopted the Region 3 ARRC Plan in September 1991, and the Plan has been amended several times over the last seventeen years.3 On August 17, 2007, Region 3 ARRC filed an amendment to its Public Safety Plan to: (1) change the nomenclature for the Common Calling and Tactical Interoperability Channels to match a plan developed by the Arizona Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee, and (2) modify Appendix IV - Frequency Allocation List to eliminate reserved frequency pairs in non-metro areas of the state. 4 The Region 3 ARRC coordinated the Plan Amendment and obtained letters of concurrence from all five regions adjacent to Region 3: Region 6 (Northern California), Region 7 (Colorado), Region 27 (Nevada), Region 29 (New Mexico) and Region 41 (Utah).5 1 See Letter from Larry Sayers, Region 3 Arizona Regional Review Committee (ARRC), to Marlene H. We have reviewed the Plan Amendment submitted by Region 3, and conclude, based on the information before us, that it complies with FCC rules and policies. Accordingly, pursuant to Section 4(i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. § 154(i), and Section 1.102(b) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.102(b), the Region 3 (Arizona) 800 MHz Public Safety Plan Amendment is APPROVED. This action is taken under delegated authority pursuant to Sections 0.191 and 0.392 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.191, 0.392.
