Galaxy 26 is authorized to provide Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) in the Ku-band frequencies of 14.0-14.5 GHz (Earth-to-space) and 11.7-12.2 GHz (space-to-Earth). Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TT&C) operations for the space station are authorized to be conducted using frequencies in the C-band. On June 18, 2009, the Policy Branch granted, with conditions, Sirius XM Radio Inc.’s request for special temporary authority for a period of 180 days to operate 25 terrestrial repeaters with an effective isotropically radiated power (EIRP) of up to 2000 watts at specified locations throughout the United States.
