Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 09-1644 July 28, 2009 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 16 (KANSAS) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD 700 MHZ REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETING The Region 16 (Kansas) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, August 12, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at the Kansas Highway Patrol Headquarters, 122 SW 7th Street, Topeka, Kansas. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Review and approval of Johnson County, Kansas 700 MHz application § Update on the National Regional Planning Committee (NRPC) activities § Vice Chair report on Orlando NRPC meeting The Region 16 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 16 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 16 should plan to attend.
