Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 09-2468 November 23, 2009 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 28 (EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, SOUTHERN NEW JERSEY AND DELAWARE AREA) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS PR Docket No. 92-287 The Region 28 (Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware area) Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two planning meetings on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Delaware Memorial Bridge Toll Plaza, Building 8, 2162 New Castle Avenue, New Castle, Delaware. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: · Call to Order (Chairman Richard Reynolds) · Introduction of Attendees · New Business · 700 MHz Plan Approved by FCC on 9/22/2009 · Publish Public Notice of filing window #1 in accordance with Section 8.0 of the Plan. · Empower the Technical Committee to receive any and all applications and to date and time-stamp submissions into the filing Window Log for review and deliberation to a satisfactory conclusion utilizing Plan, Appendix F as the guide book for determining pass/fail of all co/adjacent analysis and to utilize CAPRAD as the channel pool for assignments · Plan for, and accept nominations for, the office of Chairman in accordance with the Region 28 By-Laws · Discussion · Break for Lunch in Cafeteria Beginning at 1:00 p.m., the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the same location. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: · Call to Order (Chairman Richard Reynolds) · Introduction of Attendees · New Business · 800 MHz Streamlined post-Rebanding Plan Amendment Approval by FCC · Status update of the post-Rebanding Plan Amendment and what it means to the current licensees within the region · Review status of the Plan Amendments sent to five adjacent regions · Consider opening a new filing window. All eligible public safety providers in Region 28 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 and 800 MHz bands within Region 28 should plan to attend.
