Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 09-2612 Released: December 18, 2009 WIRELINE COMPETITION BUREAU SEEKS COMMENT ON PETITION OF REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA FOR DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO IMPLEMENT NUMBER CONSERVATION MEASURES PLEADING CYCLE ESTABLISHED CC Docket No. 99-200 Comment Date: January 4, 2010 Reply Comment Date: January 11, 2010 In this Notice, the Wireline Competition Bureau seeks comment on a petition filed by the Regulatory Commission of Alaska (Alaska Commission) for authority to implement number conservation measures.1 Specifically, the Alaska Commission seeks delegated authority to implement mandatory thousands-block number pooling in the 907 Numbering Plan Area to ensure that the public is protected from the unnecessary expense and confusion related to premature code splits or overlays.2 Interested parties may file comments on the Alaska Petition on or before January 4, 2010, and reply comments on or before January 11, 2010. All pleadings are to reference CC Docket No. 99-200. Comments may be filed using: (1) the Commission’s Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS), (2) the Federal Government’s eRulemaking Portal, or (3) by filing paper copies.3 § Electronic Filers: Comments may be filed electronically using the Internet by accessing the ECFS: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/ecfs/ or the Federal eRulemaking Portal: http://www.regulations.gov.
