PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 445 12th St., S.W. Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 10-1550 Released: August 19, 2010 FCC CONTINUES 2010 EEO AUDITS On August 18, 2010, the Federal Communications Commission mailed the second of its Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters for 2010 to randomly selected radio stations. In accordance with Sections 73.2080(f)(4) and 76.77(d) of the Commission’s rules, the FCC annually audits the EEO programs of randomly selected broadcast licensees and multi-channel video programming distributors (MVPDs). Each year, approximately five percent of all radio and television stations and of all MVPDs are selected for these EEO audits. Attached is a list of the radio stations to which the audit letters were sent on August 18, 2010, as well as the text of the letter. The list and the letter can also be viewed by accessing the Media Bureau’s EEO page on the FCC website, at http://www.fcc.gov/mb/policy/eeo. This is to remind broadcast licensees that stations that have a website and are part of an employment unit with five or more full-time employees must post their most recent EEO public file report on their website by the deadline by which the report must be created, in accordance with Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the rules. Compliance with this requirement will be examined as part of the audit. Failure to post the required report on a station website is a violation of the Section 73.2080 and subject to the possible imposition of sanctions, including a monetary forfeiture.
