Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 10-1703 Released: September 15, 2010 FCC ANNOUNCES MEETING OF THE COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY, RELIABILITY, AND INTEROPERABILITY COUNCIL (CSRIC) SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 7, 2010 AT FCC HEADQUARTERS By this Public Notice the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), consistent with the Federal Advisory Committee Act,1 announces that the FCC’s Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC or Council) will meet on October 7, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in the Commission Meeting Room at FCC Headquarters, located at 445 12th Street, SW, Room TW-C305, Washington, DC 20554. The CSRIC is a Federal Advisory Committee that will provide recommendations to the Commission regarding best practices and actions the Commission can take to ensure optimal security, reliability, and interoperability of commercial and public safety communications systems. On March 19, 2009, the FCC, pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act, renewed the charter for the CSRIC for a period of two years through March 18, 2011.2 Several working groups will be presenting their proposed recommendations for consideration by the full Council. The co-chairs of the CSRIC working groups will also provide an update on plans for completing work in progress. Members of the general public may attend the meeting, and the FCC will attempt to accommodate as many attendees as possible. However, admittance will be limited to seating availability. The Commission will also provide audio and/or video coverage of the meeting over the Internet from the FCC’s web page at www.fcc.gov/live. Open captioning will be provided for this event.
