Dear Mr. Schlick and Ms. Gillett: 
I am writing on behalf of the  North American Portability Management LLC (“NAPM LLC”) 
to provide the Commission with an update regarding the Request for Proposal (“RFP”) that the 
NAPM LLC is developing for number portability database platform(s) and services in the seven United 
States former Regional Bell Operating Company (“RBOC”) service areas or regions, including their 
related territories.  The RFP for the NPAC/SMS platform(s) will be issued in the fourth quarter of 
2011, with vendor selection, contract execution, platform testing, and system deployment to be 
completed prior to system launch in June 2015. 
In preparation for the RFP, the NAPM LLC will issue a Request for Information (“RFI”) 
in the fourth quarter of 2010 and begin to pre-qualify potential vendors.  Beginning on 
November 15, 2010, interested parties may visit the NAPM LLC website (www.napmllc.org) for 
additional RFI and Pre-Qualification information and obtain instructions for the RFI/RFP 
process.  Beginning on December 1, 2010, the RFI and additional Pre-Qualification information 
will be made available. 
The NAPM LLC respectfully requests the Commission to issue an FCC News Release 
announcing the NAPM LLC News Release in order to ensure that all interested parties are made 
aware of the upcoming RFI and Pre-Qualification Process.
