NEWS RELEASE Released: August 27, 2010 THE NAPM LLC ANNOUNCES A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR LNP DATABASE PLATFORMS AND SERVICES The North American Portability Management Company LLC (NAPM LLC), through its Future of Number Portability Administration Center (FoNPAC) Team, is developing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for number portability database platform(s) and services in the seven United States former RBOC service areas or regions, including their related territories. The RFP will provide the specifications and terms for the development of a next-generation Number Portability Administration Center/Service Management System (NPAC/SMS) for Local Number Portability (LNP) in the seven former RBOC service areas. The NPAC/SMS consists of hardware and software platform(s) that host a national information database required to effect the porting and pooling of telephone numbers, proper call routing of telephone numbers, and associated advanced calling features. The NPAC/SMS serves as the central coordination point of LNP activity and provides management, administration, oversight for, and integration of, the data center operations, hardware and software development, and all maintenance related functions. The RFP for the NPAC/SMS will be issued in the fourth quarter of 2011, with vendor selection, contract execution, platform testing, and system deployment to be completed prior to system launch in June 2015. In preparation for the RFP, the NAPM LLC will issue a Request for Information (RFI) in the fourth quarter of 2010 and begin to pre-qualify potential vendors. Beginning on November 15, 2010, interested parties may visit the NAPM LLC website (www.napmllc.org) and select the RFI/RFP tab for additional RFI and Pre-Qualification information and to obtain instructions for the RFI/RFP process.
