Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 10-2129 November 4, 2010 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 17 (KENTUCKY) 700 MHZ PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE TO HOLD MEETING The Public Safety Working Group (PSWG) (formerly known as the Region 17 Kentucky Public Safety Regional Planning Committee) of the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee (KWIEC) will hold a planning meeting on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the J-6 Building 154, Boone National Guard Center Boone Center, 100 Minuteman Parkway, Frankfort, Kentucky. The agenda for the meeting includes: § Review draft 700 MHz Plan § Intra-state regional interoperability Memorandum of Agreements (MOAs) § Tasking from the KWIEC o Review Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan (SCIP) o Review PSWG 2011 recommended goals o Discussion of “Flexibility Public Notice” FCC Notice (KWIEC response) o Update on Mutual Aid Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) § PSWG discussion of previous business § Broadband data vendor briefings § COML and training issues The PSWG (Region 17 700 MHz RPC) meeting is open to the public. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 90.523, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 17 should plan to attend.
