Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 10-2132 November 4, 2010 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 24 (MISSOURI) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ MEETINGS PR Docket No. 93-131 The Region 24 (Missouri) Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPCs) will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the Missouri State Highway Patrol General Headquarters, second floor conference room, 1510 East Elm, Jefferson City, Missouri 65101. A conference bridge will be available and the call-in information will be forwarded through the 700 MHz and 800 MHz list serve prior to the meeting. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Old business o Approval September 2, 2010 Meeting Minutes o Approval of agenda o Any other old business that needs to be addressed by the RPC § New business o Discussion on 700 MHz applications currently before the RPC1 o Implementation of 700 MHz interoperability channels and consistency with the Commission’s 2007 consolidated channel plan o Discussion and update on 700 MHz low power analog channel use, regional ground fire 700 MHz channels, and whether analog use on General Use category channels on a secondary basis is permitted within the Commission’s rules o Update on the City of Independence, Missouri 700 MHz trunked system (Call Sign WQEQ501) which remains unable to modify its channels to the 2007 consolidated band plan, pending a Commission determination on relocation reimbursement matters. o General update on the 700 MHz Broadband proceeding, PS Docket No. 06-229 o Discussion of implementation of interoperability channels at 700 MHz and consistency with 2007consolidated band plan o Discussion and update on 700 MHz Low Power channel analog use, regional fire ground 700 MHz, and whether analog use on the General Use channels on a secondary basis is 1 Channels are available in each county within the State of Missouri. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: § Old business o Approval of September 2, 2010 Meeting Minutes o Approval of Agenda § New Business o Status update on Region 24’s 800 MHz re-banding process o Discussion of 800 MHz channel acquisition process and ongoing availability of former Nextel channels between 854-860 MHz for public safety and critical infrastructure use o Discussion of the progress of 800 MHz implementation in the St. Louis area using the Region 24 800 MHz channel plan o Other issues deemed pertinent by the Region 24 Committee and those in attendance o Open discussion Both Region 24 Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 24 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 24 should plan to attend.
