Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 10-2287 December 3, 2010 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 39 (TENNESSEE) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC MEETINGS The Region 39 (Tennessee) Public Safety Regional Planning Committee (RPCs) will hold two planning meetings on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation headquarters, 901 R S Gass Boulevard, Nashville, Tennessee. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Welcome and introductions § Vendor presentation (future of 25KHz/50KHz MDT Systems) § 700 MHz update and open discussion § 700 MHz broadband vs. wideband § By-law change proposal § Adjournment Following the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting, the 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meeting will convene at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. The agenda for the 800 MHz meeting includes: § Welcome and introductions § Vendor Presentation (not confirmed; rebanding close-out information) § State of the Region open discussion (rebanding and 800 MHz issues) § By-law change proposal § Adjournment Both Region 39 700 and 800 MHz Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 39 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs.
