PUBLIC NOTICE Federal Communications Commission 445 12th St., S.W. Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 10-271 February, 18 2010 SEVEN-DAY EXTENSION OF TIME TO FILE COMMENTS AND REPLY COMMENTS ON WIRELESS MICROPHONES FURTHER NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING ET Docket No. 10-24 WT Docket No. 08-166 WT Docket No. 08-167 Revised Comment Deadline: March 1, 2010 Revised Reply Comment Deadline: March 22, 2010 On January 15, 2010, the Commission released the Wireless Microphones Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, which provided that comments were due on February 22, 2010 and that reply comments were due on March 15, 2010.1 On February 17, 2010, Shure Incorporated (Shure) filed a request for a seven-day extension of the comment deadline in this proceeding.2 Shure states that to accommodate parties affected by the lost time due to the numerous closings and disruptions resulting from the adverse weather conditions in Washington, DC and surrounding areas over the last two weeks, a seven-day extension of time in which to file comments is necessary and in the public interest.3 Shure also notes that the requested extension will not unduly delay resolution of the issues raised in this proceeding or cause hardship or prejudice to any party.4 It is the policy of the Commission that extensions of time are not routinely granted.5 Such extensions may be warranted when, among other things, the additional time will serve the public interest. In the instant proceeding, we find that providing the requested limited extension would be beneficial to the development of a complete record on the issues and that granting the extension of time requested by 1 75 Fed.
