In a public notice released on September 28, 2009, the Wireline Competition Bureau solicited nominations to fill vacancies on the USAC Board of Directors in accordance with the nomination and appointment procedures of section 54.703(c) of the Commission’s rules. 1 The nominations period closed on November 1, 2009.2 These five members are selected as successors to Board members whose terms expired on December 31, 2009.3 Chairman Genachowski named the following members to the USAC Board of Directors: · Representative for schools that are eligible to receive discounts: Dr. Sheryl Abshire, Chief Technology Officer, Calcasieu (Louisiana) Parish Public Schools · Representative for incumbent local exchange carriers (incumbent LECs) (other than Bell Operating Companies) with annual operating revenues in excess of $40 million: D. Michael Anderson, Vice President of External Affairs, Iowa Telecom · Representative for state telecommunications regulators: Hon. Anne C. Boyle, Commissioner, Nebraska Public Service Commission · Representative for information service providers: David P.
