HAWAIIAN TELCOM, INC. AND HAWAIIAN TELCOM SERVICES COMPANY, INC., 
DEBTORS-IN-POSSESSION

Hawaiian Telcom, Inc. (HTI) and Hawaiian Telcom Services Company, Inc. (HT Services) 
(together, Applicants), both debtors-in-possession before the United States Bankruptcy Court (Court), 
filed a series of applications pursuant to sections 214 and 310(d) of the Communications Act of 1934, as 
amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 214, 310(d), seeking approval for various assignments and transfers of control of 
licenses and authorizations.1 Time Warner Cable (TWC) filed an opposition to the applications on March 
24, 2010.   
On March 30, 2010, Applicants filed a motion for extension of time requesting a due date for 
reply of April 7, 2010 rather than March 31, 2007, as established by the original public notice.  Applicants 
state that they have been diligently researching the factual questions raised by the TWC opposition, but
have not been able to complete that investigation in the four business days since the opposition was filed,
because the allegations do not include specific incidents or dates.2  Applicants further state that grant of 
this request is in the public interest because it will allow them sufficient time to research and respond 
fully to TWC’s claims, and a complete response to those allegations will ensure that the Commission has 
a complete record on which to make its decision.3
It is the policy of the Commission that extensions of time are not routinely granted.4 However, 
after reviewing the request for extension of time, we have concluded that the public interest would be 
served by granting the extension Applicants request.  The Bureau hereby grants a seven-day extension of

time for Applicants to file a reply to the opposition to the applications.5 Accordingly, the date for filing 
Applicants’ reply is April 7, 2010.
