On March 19, 2010, the Commission released a Public Notice seeking comment on a petition for rulemaking, which requested that the Commission amend and supplement its retransmission consent rules.1 Comments are due in this proceeding on April 19, 2010, and reply comments are due on May 4, 2010. 2. On March 29, 2010, the National Association of Broadcasters (“NAB”) requested that the comment and reply comment deadlines be extended until May 18, 2010 and June 3, 2010, respectively, to “allow the Commission to collect and consider a more complete legal and factual record regarding the instant Petition . . . .”2 NAB stated that the “many concerned parties” attending the 2010 NAB Show in Las Vegas, which immediately precedes the current comment deadline, “would lose a significant amount of preparation time and would have only two business days after the show ends to finalize and file their comments in response to the Public Notice.”3 We grant NAB’s request. 3. As set forth in Section 1.46(a) of the Commission's Rules,4 the Commission's policy is that extensions of time shall not be routinely granted. Given the conclusion of the 2010 NAB Show shortly before the comment deadline, however, we grant an extension of time to facilitate the development of a full record. 4. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to Sections 4(i), 4(j), and 303(r) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 154(i) and (j), and 303(r) and Sections 0.61, 0.283, and 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.61, 0.283, and 1.46, the Motion for Extension of Time filed by the National Association of Broadcasters IS GRANTED, and the deadlines to file 1 Public Notice, Media Bureau Seeks Comment on a Petition for Rulemaking to Amend the Commission’s Rules Governing Retransmission Consent, DA 10-474 (MB, Mar. 19, 2010). 2 Motion for Extension of Time of the National Association of Broadcasters at 2 (filed Mar. 29, 2010). 3 Id. 4 47 C.F.R. § 1.46.
