Washington, D.C. 20554 DA 10-67 January 13, 2010 PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU ANNOUNCES REGION 13 (ILLINOIS) PUBLIC SAFETY REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEES TO HOLD 700 MHZ REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING AND 800 MHZ NPSPAC REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS Gen. Docket No. 91-228 The Region 13 (Illinois)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees (RPC) will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., the 800 MHz NPSPAC RPC will convene at the Bone Student Center, Spotlight Room, Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois. The purpose of this meeting is to review any pending 800 MHz applications and address any outstanding issues. Immediately following the 800 MHz NPSPAC RPC meeting, the 700 MHz Public Safety RPC will convene at the same location. The purpose of this meeting is to review applications approved and pending on the Computer Assisted Pre-Coordination Resource and Database (CAPRAD) System, and activity requirements of the recently approved 700 MHz plan. The Region 13 Public Safety RPC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Region 13 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 13 should plan to attend.
