Federal Communications Commission DA 11-1136 Before the Federal Communications Commission Washington, D.C. 20554 In the Matter of Bloomberg L.P., Complainant v. Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, Defendant ) ) ) ) ) ) ) MB Docket No. 11-104 ORDER Adopted: June 28, 2011 Released: June 29, 2011 Revised Answer deadline: July 27, 2011 By the Chief, Media Bureau: 1. In this Order, the Media Bureau grants Comcast Cable Communications, LLC’s (“Comcast”) Motion for Extension of Time to file an answer in response to the above-captioned complaint filed by Bloomberg L.P. (“Bloomberg”). In that complaint, Bloomberg alleges that Comcast violated a term of the Order granting the application of Comcast, General Electric Company, and NBC Universal, Inc. to transfer control of licenses from General Electric Company to Comcast.1 2. On June 21, 2011, Comcast filed a motion seeking a 14-day extension of time to file an answer in response to Bloomberg’s complaint so that the deadline for its answer would be July 27, 2011.2 Comcast asserts that additional time will allow it “to review the data and analyses Bloomberg provided, gather relevant facts, and prepare its Answer, thereby providing a more complete record.”3 Comcast also states that counsel for Bloomberg consents to the request.4 We find that there is good cause for a limited extension of time to file an answer. Bloomberg’s complaint is extensive, and we believe that extending the answer deadline to July 27, 2011 is appropriate to allow Comcast sufficient time to review and answer the complaint, and provide the Media Bureau with a more extensive record, which may lead to a more expeditious resolution of the dispute.5 3. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED that, pursuant to authority under Sections 4(i) and 303(r) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U.S.C. §§ 154 and 303(r), and Section 1.46 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. § 1.46, and pursuant to authority delegated to the Media Bureau pursuant to Sections 0.204 and 0.283 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C.F.R. §§ 0.204, 0.283, Comcast’s Motion for Extension of Time IS GRANTED. 1 See Media Bureau Announces Filing of Complaint by Bloomberg L.P.
