The event will be held on Friday, July 15, 2011 from 12:00 p.m.-12:30 p.m. The Commission has emphasized the importance of basing policy-making on high-quality data (see, for example, http://www.fcc.gov/data/data-innovation-initiative). Form 477 is the Commission’s primary means of collecting data on broadband and voice subscriptions, making it an important input to Commission policies, including the Commission’s efforts to promote broadband availability to every American. Given the importance of Form 477, the Wireline Competition Bureau is taking several measures to improve compliance with filing rules, including this seminar to ensure providers understand their mandatory reporting responsibilities. The webinar will reinforce the importance of Form 477 to Commission activities, provide an overview of basic filing requirements and discuss some of the common problems the Bureau encounters in filings currently. This webinar coincides with increased Commission efforts to ensure full compliance and to take enforcement actions to address non-compliance. As always, information about Form 477 requirements can be found at http://transition.fcc.gov/form477/welcome.html; and those with specific questions about the instructions can contact staff at 477info@fcc.gov or (202) 418-0940. The webinar will be open to the public exclusively through the Internet, and the Events Page at http://www.fcc.gov/events will provide updated information about the webinar. Audio/video coverage of the meeting will be broadcast live with open captioning over the Internet from the FCC's web page at www.fcc.gov/live. The FCC’s webcast is free to the public. Those who watch the live video stream of the event may email event-related questions to livequestions@fcc.gov. Depending on the volume of questions and time constraints, the panel moderators will work to respond to as many questions as possible during the workshop. Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities are available upon request. Please include a description of the accommodation you will need. Individuals making such requests must include their contact information should FCC staff need to contact them for more information. Requests should be made as early as possible.
