REPLY COMMENT DATES FOR THE SECOND FURTHER NOTICE OF PROPOSED 
RULEMAKING AND NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING IN THE E911 LOCATION 
ACCURACY PROCEEDING

On July 12, 2011, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a Third Report and Order, 
Second Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the E911 
Location Accuracy proceeding.1 The E911 Location Accuracy Second FNPRM and E911 Location 
Accuracy NPRM sought comment on a number of issues related to how the Commission can enhance the 
public’s ability to contact emergency services personnel during times of crisis.  The E911 Location 
Accuracy Second FNPRM and E911 Location Accuracy NPRM set deadlines for filing comments and 
reply comments at 60 and 90 days after publication in the Federal Register.  
On August 4, 2011, a summary of the E911 Location Second FNPRM and E911 Location 
Accuracy NPRM was published in the Federal Register.2 Accordingly, comments must be filed on or 
before October 3, 2011; and reply comments must be filed on or before November 2, 2011. Comment 
filing instructions are set forth in the Third Report and Order, E911 Location Accuracy Second FNPRM,
and E911 Location Accuracy NPRM.
