Docket No. 90-7 The Region 20 (Northern Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia)1 Public Safety Regional Planning Committees will hold two consecutive planning meetings on Thursday, August 25, 2011, beginning at 10:00 a.m., at the Maryland State Highway Administration, Hanover Complex, 7491 Connelly Drive, Hanover, Maryland. The agenda for the 700 MHz meeting includes: § Review and approval of minutes from the last meeting, and old business requiring attention of the membership § Review and approval of applications for 700 MHz frequencies § New Business § Technical Committee o Recommended changes to the Region 20 Channel Plan o Use of orphan channels (particularly in high population areas) § Operations Committee – Appointment of Chairperson § Maryland First Plan update (Ray Lehr) § Public safety broadband, and national 700 MHz interoperability channel updates (Charles Bryson) § Other matters for the good of the order § Adjournment Immediately following the 700 MHz RPC meeting, the 800 MHz NPSPAC meeting will convene, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the same location. All eligible public safety providers in Region 20 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that eligible public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county and Native American Tribal be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 20 should plan to attend.
