Reply Comment Deadline Extended in Low Power FM - FM Translator Rule Making 
New NPRM Reply Comment Date:  September 27, 2011
On July 12, 2011, the Commission adopted and released a Third Further Notice of Proposed Rule 
Making in the Matter of Creation of a Low Power Radio Service; Amendment of Service and Eligibility 
Rules for FM Broadcast Translator Stations.1 The Media Bureau (“Bureau”) announced that comments 
and reply comments were due by August 29, 2011, and September 12, 2011, respectively.2 The Bureau 
subsequently extended those dates to September 6, 2011, and September 20, 2011, respectively, due to the 
disruptions of business and communications resulting from Hurricane Irene.3
On September 15, 2011, the Bureau received a request for a one-week extension of the reply 
comment deadline based on the number of comments filed and the extensive technical exhibits submitted 
with several comments, as well as the involvement of counsel for several commenting parties in the NAB 
Radio Show in Chicago in the week prior to September 20, 2011.4 The Bureau finds that these 
circumstances justify a one-week extension of the comment period.  We therefore extend the deadline for 
filing reply comments to the Third Further Notice to September 27, 2011.
