Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 DA 11-1929 Released: November 22, 2011 Media Bureau Announces Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Matter of Standardized and Enhanced Disclosure Requirements for Television Broadcast Licensee Public Interest Obligations Published in Federal Register November 22, 2011 NPRM Comment Date: December 22, 2011 NPRM Reply Comment Date: January 6, 2012 On October 27, 2011, the Commission adopted and released a Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in the Matter of Standardized and Enhanced Disclosure Requirements for Television Broadcast Licensee Public Interest Obligations.1 In the Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM, the Commission seeks comment on a series of proposals to modernize the way television broadcasters inform the public about how they are serving their communities. The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 30 and 45 days, respectively, after publication of the Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM in the Federal Register.2 By this Public Notice, the Media Bureau announces that the Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM was published in the Federal Register today, November 22, 2011.3 Comments must be submitted no later than December 22, 2011. Reply Comments must be submitted no later than January 6, 2012. Commenters should follow the filing instructions provided in paragraph 55 of the Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM.4 The Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM is also available on the Commission’s website.5 As a reminder, we ask commenters to limit the comments filed in Docket 00-168 to those related to the online posting requirement as discussed in this Enhanced Disclosure FNPRM.
