Media Bureau Announces Notice of Inquiry in the Matter of Standardizing Program 
Reporting Requirements for Broadcast Licensees Published in Federal Register

On November 10, 2011, the Commission adopted a Notice of Inquiry in the Matter of 
Standardizing Program Reporting Requirements for Broadcast Licensees.1 In the Standardizing 
Reporting NOI, the Commission seeks comment on a proposal to replace the issues/programs list that 
television stations are required to place in their public files with a streamlined, standardized disclosure 
form that will be available to the public online.  The Commission set deadlines for filing comments and 
reply comments at 30 and 45 days, respectively, after publication of the Standardizing Reporting NOI in 
the Federal Register.2
By this Public Notice, the Media Bureau announces that the Standardizing Reporting NOI was 
published in the Federal Register today, December 15, 2011.3 Comments must be submitted no later than 
January 17, 2012.  Reply Comments must be submitted no later than January 30, 2012.  Commenters 
should follow the filing instructions provided in paragraph 50 of the Standardizing Reporting NOI.4 The 
Standardizing Reporting NOI is also available on the Commission’s website.5 As a reminder, we ask 
commenters to limit the comments filed in MB Docket 11-189 to those related to the standardized 
disclosure proposal as discussed in the Standardizing Reporting NOI.   Comments relating to the online 
public file proposals discussed in the Matter of Standardized and Enhanced Disclosure Requirements for 
Television Broadcast Licensee Public Interest Obligations should be filed in MM Docket 00-168; 00-44.6
