Amendment of the Commission’s Rules Related to Retransmission Consent

On March 3, 2011, the Commission adopted and released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking in
the Matter of Amendment of the Commission’s Rules Related to Retransmission Consent.1 In the 
Retransmission Consent NPRM, the Commission seeks comment on a series of proposals to streamline 
and clarify its rules concerning or affecting retransmission consent negotiations.  The Commission set 
deadlines for filing comments and reply comments at 60 and 90 days, respectively, after publication of the 
Retransmission Consent NPRM in the Federal Register.2
By this Public Notice, the Media Bureau announces that the Retransmission Consent NPRM is 
being published in the Federal Register on March 28, 2011.3 Comments must be submitted no later than 
May 27, 2011.  Reply Comments must be submitted no later than June 27, 2011.  Commenters should 
follow the filing instructions provided in paragraph 51 of the Retransmission Consent NPRM.4 The 
Retransmission Consent NPRM is also available on the Commission’s website.5
